ELASA Annual Meeting 2013 COASTLINE – UK THE COASTLINE IS COMING! The ELASA Annual Meeting will be held in the UK for 2 weeks commencing on the 26 th  July and starting with the Landscape Institute Summer Conference in London. More details and a full programme are due to be released on this shortly and early signs are that it is shaping up to be a very interesting few days with a range of speakers and events across a handful of Central London venues; watch this space for further announcements. The ELASA group will then depart London on the Sunday 28 th  July where we will start our adventure touring the coastline of the UK. The International Festival of Art and Construction is focused on 200 young and dynamic people from the world of art and architecture from different parts of Europe. They will live and work together for 10 days in August 2012, in a creative and integrated space of different art programmes, to debate, work and exchange experiences, through the participation of 20 different exciting workshops, establishing a balance between academic, practical, cultural and social networking. It is located in a remote area, called "Villarino de los Aires" where it is one of the most beautiful and mesmerizing landscapes of the Spanish territory.  The event's theme is " SELF- SUFFICENT RURAL FURURE " It open up debates, in a globalized environment, proposing self-sufficiency as a possible future model that taps into the rural past.  Dragi moji studenti, o ovome ste već bili obavešteni kada smo imali nastavu na Velikom Ratnom ostrvu, no, evo informacije još jednom:   Studentski eko kamp će se održati od 30.07 do 14.08. 2011. 2007 godine, u okviru tradicionalne proslave Dana Dunava, Coca-Cola Sistem u partnerstvu sa Direkcijom za vode Ministarstva poljoprivrede, šumarstva i vodoprivrede, Gradom Beogradom i fakultetom za primenjenu ekologiju „Futura“, po prvi put je organizovala Studentski eko kamp na Velikom ratnom ostrvu. Mladi studenti i naučnici, iz godine u godinu, u prilici su da, na praktičnom primeru, dobiju dodatnu edukaciju na polju očuvanja ovog dragocenog prirodnog rezervata. Kamp traje dve nedelje u julu i organizovan je u dve smene. Terreform ONE Bio Design Lab now accepting applications. Scholarships available! TerreformONE [Open Network Ecology] is an award winning non-profit design group that promotes green design in cities. This summer they are offering a bio-design lab for students, architects, scientists, artists and individuals of all background in New York. During this lab it will be explored design with various living matter including live tissues, bacteria, tree grafting, fungi growth control and parametric scripting. ONE Lab is designed for students who wish to engage with the crossover of design and science. Experimental Architecture Summerschool PAO ARCHITECTURE SUMMERSCHOOL 2011 Going by the title UNDER ONE ROOF: A THOUSAND IDEAS finally the concept and programme for our 2011 PAO Summerschool got decided. The workshop will happen - as in the previous years - in the Romanian mountain village of Potoc, near Timisoara city. General idea is to work on the old school building in Potoc, and to set-up a kind of Micro-Bauhaus in this rural setting. The large old school building of Potoc provides a perfect location for a variety of projects on all scales: from artistic work (sculpting, drawing, crafting) to architectural construction (house-in-house). TIME The workshop will happen in the last two weeks of August and beginning of September, exactly: August 22nd through September 4th. Student Charette Design Workshop HSR Hochschule fuer Technik Rapperswil, University of Applied Sciences is proud to initiate this year’s Student Charette at the IFLA World Congress. HSR is a leading institution in landscape architecture and the only university offering a Bachelor’s degree in this domain in German speaking Switzerland. Topic The transformation of the historical Gruenfels site in Rapperswil-Jona within the context of urbanization, developing infrastructure and the need for recreation. Brief The Charette is open for undergraduate or master students of landscape architecture and the program will be directed by a team of Swiss professors. In the Charette the students will be asked to analyze the site and develop open space concepts concerning the historical Gruenfels site.
