This year’s theme invites participants to reflect on lighting the communities near the Polar Circle. Due to their high latitude these communities are subjected to particular lighting phenomena. Since light is an essential part of every living organism, it or its lack thereof has a profound effect on humankind. Can these isolated communities benefit from a more adapted artificial outdoor lighting solution to satisfy their particular Nordic needs and identities?    

Nikola-Lenivets International Design Competition Nikola-Lenivets Project and Archstoyanie Festival announce the competition for Nikola’s Belvedere art object which is meant to become one of the main landmarks in Nikola-Lenivets. The competition’s objectives include design and construction of observation deck/belvedere which will connect composition-wise Rotunda by Brodsky and Arch by Bernaskoni art objects into a uniform architectural ensemble and will become the high-rise dominant of Versailles Park. The main function of the belvedere is to let one see the panoramic view of the landscape from above. The competition is held in two stages. First the Expert Council revises submitted layout projects and selects 10 shortlisted entries. After the shortlisted drafts are completed, the Jury, on the basis of experts’ advice, will determine the finalist of the competition. EFLA Students’ & Young Professionals’ Competition EFLA Student & Young Professionals Competition  gives you a chance to share your projects, ideas and sites with landscape architecture practitioners throughout Europe. The competition aims to help up and coming designers to get exposure for their projects and work. Any European landscape architect (a student or a professional under the age of 35) can submit their “page” to the catalogue. This will exist both online and in a printed format. The “page” is your competition entry. EFLA Student & Young Professionals Competition opens for entries By Damian Holmes on February 29, 201 European Federation of Landscape Architects (EFLA) has launched the Student & Young Professionals Competition which aims to help up and coming designers to get exposure for their projects and work. Any landscape architect (a student or a professional under the age of 35) can submit their entries. The competition and the catalogue is divided into 3 categories: Sites, Ideas and Projects. Winner of each category: a stipend for the International Masters course WORKSHOP for 10 days in Spain (in June 2013). For all the winners of 3 categories the costs of registration fee and hotel expenses will be covered. Additionally each winner will receive a stipend of € 700 to cover flights and accommodation costs (including expenses). The competition is open to entries from 1st March 2012.   Počinje rekonstrukcija starog gradskog jezgra PANČEVO, 15. septembar 2011. (TV Pančevo) – Sledeće nedelje počinju radovi na rekonstrukciji dela starog gradskog jezgra. Istovremeno, Direkcija za izgradnju raspisaće konkurs za arhitektonsko vizuelno obeležje ovog dela Pančeva.
